Dominik Szoboszlai Named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for February

Dominik Szoboszlai has claimed the Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month award for February, marking his first win of the 2024-25 season after securing the top spot in a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com.

The dynamic midfielder, who netted three goals in seven appearances throughout the month, edged out Mohamed Salah in the supporters’ vote. All of Szoboszlai’s matches during February were starting roles, and he was named Carlsberg Player of the Match in two of them.

Szoboszlai’s standout performances included a crucial goal in the 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, which helped secure Liverpool’s place in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. He also played a key role in the 4-2 Premier League win over Manchester City, assisting Mohamed Salah’s opener before adding a goal himself with a composed finish in the first half.

The 24-year-old capped off the month with another impressive performance against Newcastle United at Anfield, scoring the opening goal within the first 10 minutes, leading his side to a dominant 3-0 victory.

Reflecting on his award at the AXA Training Centre, Szoboszlai expressed his gratitude: "It was a fantastic month for the team and for me personally. I found my rhythm, and I’m hoping to keep building on this. February was a pivotal month for us, and we knew it would be packed with important games. We took full advantage of it, and now we just need to keep pushing forward
